High Down Wind Farm Community Fund, St Ive – Recruiting panel members

Following message received from Cornwall Community Foundation

The Cornwall Community Foundation invests and manages funds and distributes grants on behalf of individuals, companies, charitable trusts and statutory agencies to meet needs in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly.

As you might be aware The Cornwall Community Foundation are now administering the High Down Wind Farm Community Fund for the benefit of the St Ive area. We also administer 4 other solar farm community gain pots across Cornwall as well as a few wind farm community gain pots.

Please find attached the application form and guidelines, the aims of the fund are as follows: The High Down Wind Power Community Fund shall exist for the promotion of projects, with priority given to the Parish of St Ive, with potential for the improvement of environmental education in the face of climate change, highlighting the need for sustainability, for renewable energy and energy efficiency, or which address problems of rural isolation, especially for younger members of the community or projects which otherwise address local needs.

We are recruiting panel members and wondered if you would be interested in becoming a panel member? We aim to spend the money in a one off funding round at the end of Spring or beginning of the Summer 2015, however if the money is not spend we might have to organise another funding round. So as a panel member all you would have to do is commit to one, if not two panel meetings to review applications, make decisions on awards and help to publicise the funds.

We hope to recruit the Chair and one other from the local Parish Council, the local Cornwall Councillor (possibly), two others from the community, and the Cornwall Rural Community Charity’s local Capacity Building Officer.

I would appreciate if you could pass this information to the Parish Councillor’s and members of the community that would be interested (only looking for two members of the local community) along with the attached application form and guidelines for them to view regarding the fund.

Please note it does not have to be a Parish Councillor that represents the parish just someone with good knowledge.

I look forward to hearing from you and thank you in anticipation.

Best wishes

Donna
