Welcome to St Ive Parish Council

Latest notice: Two vacancies on the parish council

About St Ive Parish Council

St Ive Parish Council serves the communities of St Ive and Pensilva in south east Cornwall. The council represents local residents, looks after community interests, comments on planning applications, manages local services and facilities, and works with Cornwall Council and other organisations on matters affecting the parish.

Council meetings are held at Millennium House in Pensilva and residents are encouraged to attend, keep up with agendas and minutes, and raise local concerns through the proper channels.

Ordinary council meetings are generally held on the second Monday of each month, with no ordinary meeting in August or December. Residents should check the latest agenda for confirmation of dates, times and venue details.

The parish includes both rural and village communities, with Pensilva providing a strong centre for community activity and St Ive retaining its historic church settlement and links along the A390 corridor between Liskeard and Callington.

Current Notices

Residents should also keep an eye on the council’s meetings pages for agendas, supporting papers and formal notices as they are published.

Planning Applications

St Ive Parish Council is consulted on planning applications within the parish, but decisions are made by Cornwall Council as the local planning authority. Residents can review live applications, read submitted plans and documents, and add their own comments through Cornwall Council’s online planning system.

Search the Cornwall Council online planning register to find an application, then use the comment function on the application record to submit your views. Cornwall Council also provides guidance on how to respond to planning applications.

Neighbourhood Development Plan

The St Ive and Pensilva Neighbourhood Development Plan is important because, once adopted, it will carry real weight in planning decisions alongside the Cornwall Local Plan and national policy. It gives local people the chance to shape planning policies for the parish, rather than relying only on county-wide policy.

The draft Plan was published for consultation from 2 March 2026 to 6 April 2026. After comments are reviewed and the Plan moves through the remaining stages, residents of the parish will be asked to vote on it in a local referendum.
